Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress, who is employed in the fields of film, television and the theatre. She's best known as Teri Joe, a fiery lawyer on The Showtime program Soul Food. Nikki Kodjoe became her stage name upon her marriage. Her talent for acting was evident in her early years. Contractor is a Mumbai-born Indian, who lived in Nigeria at the age of was seven years old, knew a great deal about different cultures around the world and was able to travel in such a short time. After boarding school, over seven years London, her family relocated to Toronto Canada in which she lived for the majority of her childhood as well as her early years of adulthood. She was also a double major in Psychology and Sociology. Contractor was cast in her first show after a year of university. She received rave reviews for her performance on the stage in 92 productions. in the production. It was also voted the production of the year by Canadian critics in 2002. Contractor was offered the opportunity to enroll in Stratford's conservatory course, in which a select eight men and four females are selected to take a crash course of 20 weeks on the classical stage that she was eager to take. Contractor got a confirmed place for the next season, and was offered the role of Hermia.
